The International Ophthalmic Technology Association (IOTA) is an independent non-profit organization registered in the Register of Associations (Vereinsregister) Bonn, Germany. Members are eye care professionals and specialists in the field of ophthalmic technology. The primary goals are:

• Support of state-of-the-art technology
• Evaluation of open standards for ophthalmic information technology (IT)
• Promotion of research and development projects for the eye care markets worldwide

The mission of IOTA is to improve ophthalmic services based on intelligent technologies for the benefit of patients all over the world.
